ZPVE industrial butterfly valve for water treatment and process pipelines

Butterfly Valve Manufacturer and Supplier

ZPVE manufactures butterfly valves for engineers, distributors and project buyers sourcing water treatment, HVAC and process valves, built to GB, API, ASME, ANSI, JIS, BS and DIN standards.

Duty cycle, line pressure, media and installation space set the valve construction. Send your specification and our engineering team confirms the build before quoting.

Standards & Specifications

Butterfly Valve Standards and Specifications

Design, testing, face-to-face length, flange ends and pressure-temperature rating are each governed by a separate standard. A valve built to the wrong one will not fit the line or pass the witness test, regardless of how well it is made.

Pressure class and size range change with the disc geometry. A concentric butterfly valve and a triple eccentric butterfly valve are not rated the same, even at the same nominal diameter.

Concentric PN10 · PN16 · Class 150 DN50–DN3000 Lever 2″–4″ · gear 5″+

Triple eccentric Class 150 3″–80″ Gear operated

ZPVE’s overall manufacturing range spans DN6–DN3000 and Class 150–4500 across the full valve line. Butterfly valves use a narrower range within that capability, shown in the table above.

Actuation & Operation

Actuated Butterfly Valve Options

Top mounting follows ISO 5211 across all four options, so the valve accepts a buyer-specified actuator without modification. Manual operation needs no further input from you; electric and pneumatic actuation carry choices that lock in at the factory.

Lever-operated actuated butterfly valve 2″–4″ bore

Lever

Fixed position notches set open, closed and intermediate stops.

Gearbox-operated actuated butterfly valve 5″ bore and up

Gearbox

Handwheel turns reduce input torque for large-diameter discs.

Electric actuated butterfly valve Remote or powered control

Electric

A motor mounted on the ISO 5211 flange drives the disc by wire, not air.

Pneumatic actuated butterfly valve Fast-cycle, high-frequency duty

Pneumatic

Compressed air drives the disc through single or double acting cylinders.

Confirm Before We Quote

Electric Actuated Butterfly Valve

  • Voltage and phase — single-phase 220V, three-phase 380V, or your local supply
  • Control signal — on/off switching, or proportional 4–20mA / Modbus for regulating duty
  • Fail-on-power-loss action — hold last position, or drive open or closed on a backup battery
  • Enclosure rating — IP65 or IP67 for outdoor or washdown installation
  • Travel time, only if the process specifies how fast the valve must open or close

Pneumatic Actuated Butterfly Valve

  • Air supply pressure available at the valve
  • Single-acting (spring-return) or double-acting
  • Fail position for spring-return — open or closed, this cannot change after the valve ships
  • Cycle frequency, to size the actuator and any air-set accessories
  • Control signal for the solenoid valve or positioner, if remote control is required

A manual override gearbox is available on electric and pneumatic actuators for emergency operation.

How We Manufacture and Test Butterfly Valves

We coordinate the butterfly valve manufacturing workflow from material preparation and machining to assembly, adjustment, inspection and packing. Every valve is built to the approved material grade, pressure class and connection standard before it leaves the workshop.

Butterfly valve body and disc material preparation

01. Material and Body Preparation

Butterfly valve bodies, discs and stems start from certified raw material matched to the grade on the order, with composition, hardness and casting condition checked before machining.

Precision machining of butterfly valve body and sealing surfaces

02. Precision Machining

Body cavities, seating surfaces, flange faces and stem bores are machined to the tolerances the pressure class requires, with dimensional checks at set stages through the process.

Butterfly valve internal component assembly including disc, seat and stem

03. Internal Component Assembly

Disc, seat and stem components are matched to the valve’s material and pressure class, with sealing surfaces and stem alignment checked before the parts come together.

Butterfly valve actuator and drive assembly on the production line

04. Actuator and Drive Assembly

The valve is fitted with the specified drive, lever, gearbox, electric or pneumatic, with mounting alignment and drive torque checked against the valve size.

Butterfly valve functional adjustment and travel check

05. Functional Adjustment

Valve travel, operating torque and seating are checked through a full open-close cycle, with any binding or seating fault corrected before testing.

Butterfly valve inspection, coating and export packing

06. Inspection, Coating and Packing

Material composition and hardness are verified by spectrometer analysis, followed by ultrasonic, magnetic particle and penetrant testing, pressure and leakage tests, then coating and export packing.

10,000+ tonnes of industrial valves manufactured annually.

Butterfly Valve Applications by Industry

Butterfly valves control large-diameter flow where installation space and valve weight are limited. We supply them into water networks, building services, process plants, marine systems and mineral processing lines across 60 countries.

Each industry sets its own seat material, body rating and actuation requirement. Send us the medium and line conditions and we confirm the build against them.

Butterfly Valve vs Gate and Ball Valves

Butterfly, gate and ball valves cover different points on the pressure, size and duty range. We manufacture all three, so a mixed valve list moves through one production and inspection process instead of separate suppliers.

Dimension Butterfly Valve Gate Valve Ball Valve
Face-to-Face Length Shortest Longest Medium
Weight at Equal DN Lightest Heaviest Medium
Operation Quarter-turn Multi-turn Quarter-turn
Cost at Large Diameter Lowest Highest High
Typical Leakage Class Class IV–VI Class IV–VI Class VI
Flow Regulation Good with a positioner Not suited to throttling Limited, needs a V-port
Pressure Class Range Up to Class 300 Up to Class 2500 Up to Class 2500

Ratings above compare typical construction at the same nominal size. Exact figures depend on structure, seat material and pressure class.

FAQ

Butterfly Valve FAQs

01 What is your minimum order quantity for butterfly valves?

MOQ depends on the valve size, structure and specification. Send us your requirements and we confirm a minimum order quantity with the quotation.

Lead time depends on order size, valve structure and whether the specification is standard or custom. We confirm a delivery date with every quotation.

Warranty terms are confirmed with your quotation and depend on the valve structure, application and any project-specific requirements. Ask us for the terms that apply to your order.

Spare parts availability depends on the valve structure and seat material. Confirm your valve model with us and we advise on parts and lead time.

We hold ISO 9001 certification and manufacture to GB, API, ASME, ANSI, JIS, BS and DIN standards, depending on the project.

Yes. Send your drawing, datasheet or valve list and we confirm the build against it before quoting.

Yes, we accept third-party inspection nominated by the buyer.

A wafer body sits between two pipe flanges and is held in place by through-bolts running the full length of the joint. A lug body has threaded inserts around its perimeter, so each side of the line can be bolted and unbolted independently — useful when one side of the valve may need to come out for maintenance while the other side stays under pressure.
