Plug-Type Disc
A long, tapered disc profile gives a wide bearing surface. We machine this form for general throttling, where it resists wire-drawing under continuous flow regulation.
ZPVE manufactures globe valves from DN15 to DN600 in cast steel, stainless steel and alloy steel. We build straight-pattern bodies with plug-type discs, in metal or resilient seats, with rising stem and outside screw and yoke.
We machine seating surfaces to your pressure class. We set disc material, packing and actuation to the medium and the line conditions.

Selection Guide
A globe valve is defined by how the disc seats and how the body is built. We supply all six configurations below and set them to the duty on your line.
A long, tapered disc profile gives a wide bearing surface. We machine this form for general throttling, where it resists wire-drawing under continuous flow regulation.
A machined conical face seats into the ring for a precise line of contact. We fit this form where the medium is clean and shutoff tightness matters most.
A flat disc presses onto the seat like a cap. We build this form for quick on and off duty rather than fine throttling.
A metal seat is machined or hardfaced directly into the body for high temperature and abrasive duty. A soft seat fits a PTFE or resilient ring for tight shutoff at moderate temperature.
Full port keeps the seat opening equal to the pipe bore. Reduced port trims the seat one size to sharpen control at partial lift and cut cost where the extra pressure drop is acceptable.
Cast bodies cover general service up to DN600. Forged bodies cover small bore, high pressure lines up to Class 2500.

Stem, Bonnet & Drive
We build the stem and bonnet the same way across the range, and fit the drive to the size of the valve and the access on site.
The stem rises outside the flow path, and seats against a shoulder in the bonnet at full open.
Studs and nuts clamp the bonnet onto the body over a gasket. We use this joint across the standard classes and it comes apart with hand tools in the field.
The stem top and mounting flange are machined to ISO 5211. Third-party electric and pneumatic actuators fit without a proprietary adaptor.
Direct drive on the smaller bores and the lower pressure classes.
Cuts the rim pull on larger bores and higher pressure classes.
Multi-turn drive for remote operation and for automated lines.
Linear or rotary cylinder drive where instrument air is available.

Sizes above DN250 are quoted against your drawing. Flanges are supplied as standard and drilled to GB, ASME, DIN, BS or JIS on request.
Manufacturing
Six steps run inside our own plant, from the cast or forged body to the pressure test.
Seat and disc lapping is the step that decides how the valve throttles and shuts off, and we run it ourselves.
We cast steel bodies and forge small-bore, high-pressure bodies to the specified material grade.
We machine the flange faces, seat bore and bonnet thread to the design drawing.
We lap the seat and disc sealing faces to a matched finish, in our own shop, for a tight metal-to-metal or soft seat.
We fit the stem, disc and bonnet, then record the closing torque on every valve.
We prime and paint carbon and alloy steel bodies after machining. Stainless steel bodies ship as machined.
We test the shell at 1.5 times the rated pressure and the seat at 1.1 times, to API 598.
Valve Comparison
A globe valve is built to regulate flow, not just switch it. Here is where that trade-off works for you, and where another valve fits better.
Regulates flow smoothly across the full range. A gate valve wears at the seat under continuous throttling.
Straight-through bore keeps pressure drop low at full open. A globe valve's S-shaped body always adds resistance.
Choose globe for throttling duty, gate for straight on/off isolation.

One year from the delivery date, covering material and workmanship.
Keep the opening within the valve's stable throttling range. Running at a very small, near-closed opening for extended periods can set up vibration and accelerate wear at the seat. Tell us your normal and minimum flow rates and we size the trim to stay clear of that range.
Yes, with the stem vertical, horizontal or at an angle, as long as the flow direction arrow cast on the body matches the direction of flow in your line. We mark every body with a flow arrow before it ships.
